Active Learning Experience

Cooperative Learning

Students are encouraged to work together in a caring classroom community!

We will use various cooperative learning strategies such as Think-Pair-Share, Group Work and Partner Work. While conducting cooperative learning, every student is expected to play a part! We do not rely on others to do our thinking for us! However, we do welcome insight and collaboration to help foster our understanding!

In my classroom, students are active participants in their learning experience! Through my kinesthetic approach, students are engaged and motivated to learn.

I have found this approach to be very useful, especially working in inclusive classrooms. By using a hand-on approach, more students are able to grasp the information and take part in learning!

Differentiated Approach

Small Group Instruction

From my Special Education background, I can easily adapt lessons so all children can access the curriculum. Accommodation is key, whether the child is advanced or struggling! I also address all Multiple Intelligences throughout my lessons. I understand that each child is unique and I value their unique mind!

By providing additional instruction within a small group, every student receives more individualized, targeted math instruction.

During small group instruction, it is crucial to have engaging independent or partner activities set up throughout the classroom. This is a wonderful time to foster each child's independence, collaborative skills and accountability.
