Differentiation and Teaching to Each Individual
I believe in creating an accommodating classroom which nurtures each individual student. Every child is unique and capable in their own way. As an educator, it is my job to help each student reach their full potential. Through differentiated instruction, engaging lessons and a hands-on approach, I am able to grasp the attention of students and motivate them to learn. My individualized approach allows children to maximize their learning experience. Education is not a one size fits all approach, every child is unique and should be treated as such.
Negotiated Curriculum
I believe in a negotiated curriculum, which utilizes the ideas and interests of the students whenever possible. A negotiated curriculum is initiated by the child and framed by the teacher. When students are actively involved with learning, they are enthused to learn. Valuing students' ideas and interests creates a sense of respect and community within the classroom. By blending interests and standards, students are motivated to prosper.
Strong Classroom Community
A strong classroom community is vital in creating a successful learning experience. School should be a place every child can feel safe and cared for. In my classroom, children are encouraged to be themselves and appreciate each other. Diversity is understood, valued and encouraged! Furthermore, it is critical that the teacher promotes integrity, enthusiasm and positivity throughout the classroom. Teachers are role models and our actions are contagious!
Teacher Partnerships
Collaboration is key, whether it is with colleagues, guardians or the children themselves. An open-minded collaborator, is a successful educator. To be a good teacher, one needs to be a good student. I truly value all partnerships and the unlimited knowledge I can obtain from colleagues, students and parents alike. Creating strong bonds with parents, colleagues and students promotes student success.
"Teaching is not just a career for me, it is a chance to change a child's life for the better, to challenge myself and to never stop learning."
