About Ms. Kerner

My name is Ms. Casey Kerner and I am THRILLED to be your 4th grade math and science teacher! This is my 6th year teaching at Richardson Olmsted and my 5th year teaching fourth grade. During my first year at RO (2015-2016), I taught 5th grade. Before teaching in Easton, I worked in the Foxborough Public Schools for 2 years.

Teaching TRULY is my dream job! Being lucky enough to carry out my dreams, I want to help my students pursue theirs. In order to do so, I strongly value a caring classroom community. When students feel safe and appreciated they are willing to make mistakes and go the extra mile. In my classroom mistakes are encouraged! What matters most is that we always do our best and treat others with respect.

Overall, I think every child deserves to fall in love with learning. It is my goal to make each student's school experience both purposeful and fun.

To all parents and guardians: feel free to contact me at any time. We are a team and open communication is vital!

About Mrs. Murphy

I absolutely love teaching fourth grade! Having taught for 20 years in Easton, I consider this town my home away from home.

I am a proud graduate of Boston College. Where I double majored in English and Elementary Education with a minor in Moderate Special Needs. I earned my Master’s Degree from Cambridge College and I've also recently become SEI endorsed. I believe staying current and informed about educational standards and reform is one of the most important responsibilities I have as a teacher.

I am married to my amazing husband, Mark who also has many ties to Easton having been a teacher and a coach for many years in town up until a few years ago. We have two adorable children, Quinn and Maeven. Quinn is entering fourth grade and is a sports frantic like his parents. Maeven will be entering first grade this year and is very excited about it as am I.

Next to my family, teaching is my absolute passion.  We will begin the year talking a lot about how the brain works and instilling a growth mindset. I believe students need to embrace the power of yet!

Please let me know whenever you may have questions or concerns. It is so important to keep lines communication open between home and school. I can be reach easily through email, phone or old fashioned notes. I look forward to a great year working together!
