Reading Olympics

Our class is filled with avid readers. With our jam-packed schedule, we typically have limited time to truly dive into a novel. So, we have started the Reading Olympics! Students will have from November 13th to the 30th to read as much as possible. As we discussed in class, it is very important that you pick a "just right book" for this assignment. If you are flying through the book, you need a more challenging choice. If you are struggling to read or understand a book, make a new selection! Remember to record how much time you read each night AS WELL AS how many pages you complete.

Medal breakdown:

• Gold: Students who read 1000 pages will be awarded a gold medal.

(Goal: Aim for 60 pages a day.)

• Silver: Students who read 750 pages will be awarded a silver medal.

(Goal: Aim for 45 pages a day.)

• Bronze: Students who read 500 pages will be awarded a bronze medal.

(Goal: Aim for 30 pages a day.)

Book Ratings:

If you complete a book, you are going to give it a gold, silver or bronze rating. On your rating, you need to include the title, author, your name and reasons for your rating.

Let the games begin!
